Complex PTSD
CPTSD is a deeply systemic response to prolonged, repeated trauma, where chronic survival states physically alter the nervous system, autonomic regulation, and brain chemistry. These neurological adaptations, combined with the profound emotional weight of navigating a world that can feel persistently unsafe or invalidating, deeply shape how an individual experiences emotional balance, self-worth, and connection with others.

Because Complex PTSD stems from prolonged, repetitive trauma, its signs are often quietly woven into the very fabric of how we survive, protect ourselves, and relate to the world. Rather than a simple checklist of symptoms, the physical, emotional, and cognitive markers below reflect the profound, ongoing exhaustion of a nervous system that has had to stay on high alert for far too long.
